LO's favorite dairy/egg-free dinner idea?

I am totally running out of ideas...it's near impossible finding dairy/egg-free dinner ideas - nevermind my son actually eating any of it - it ALL gets smooshed or thrown on the floor after my fruitless nightly efforts :(

please help?

Re: LO's favorite dairy/egg-free dinner idea?

  • I'm in the same boat. Ds is allergic to milk and SO picky. It's hard enough finding dairy free, let alone knowing if he'll eat it. We do a lot of chicken, veggies/fruit, soy yogurt, etc. I got a decent dairy free rice cheese and use that for grilled cheese. Also sunbutter/jelly sandwiches. Dr.preagers (@while foods) makes these potato/veggie bites that ds will sometimes eat. GL!

We also do lots of chicken and veggies.  I make chicken strips by coating the chicken in soy yogurt, then dipping in crushed up cereal (cheerios, corn flakes, or rice crispies), then baking.  DD dips those in ketchup and loves them.  Roasted broccoli and carrots are also a favorite.  Turkey meatballs with spinach mixed in (you can mix flaxseed meal and water to use instead of an egg), pasta wheels with some kind of veggie pasta sauce.  Amy's organic soups are great and low (relatively) in sodium.  DD also eats TONS of fruit - blueberries, slices of apple, bananas, clementines, melon.  Hummus and pita bread is a hit.  Black bean burritos.  Turkey burgers.  The Dr. Praegers are great for us too, but they have egg in them, so you may not want to feed them to your LO.

  • You can make a meatloaf and just not put egg in it---I use oatmeal insteaf of bread--and Heinz ketchup b/c it's gluten free.  DS is allergic to eggs, dairy, wheat/gluten, a little soy, peanuts and tree nuts.  I have a blog if you want to get some ideas, but there's not a heck of a lot on there yet.  There is a recipe for a cream soup base though which is good for pot pie or tuna casserole.

There are also links to a couple good sites.

  • DD is allergic to milk. It can be difficult to find stuff for her to eat, but thankfully she isn't picky.

She likes all different types of meats (from chicken to roast to ground beef or turkey). We also do all sorts of fruits and veggies. She also likes tortillas and rice, as well as all different kinds of beans.
