I am taking generic zoloft. I have GAD and have been on 100mg/day for years. When I started it back when, my doctor said it is one of the few safe meds during pregnancy. When I became pregnant we downed it to 25mg due to my preference. My ob also said it is completely safe and will not harm the baby. The only effect will be the baby may be a little crabby after birth adjusting from the meds. Depression runs in my family and my ob said that w/o the meds I am very high risk for postpartum depression.

I take 50 mg...I tried without it and it wasnt good. I posted this question on 3-6 mos board. All the women that replied said that their babies did not have any problems after birth at all.
I also work in a psychiatric hospital and when we have pregnant patients, the docs usually switch them to zoloft.
My doctor actually switched me to Zoloft when I started trying to get pregnant because it is the most safe during pregnancy & also while breastfeeding. They would like me to try to cut it out during the 3rd tri because babies can sometimes have a little withdrawl from it.
I've taken Zoloft on and off for several years. For awhile at 100mg, and when I got pregnant I was taking 25mg. So my OB said it was fine to keep taking it but if I felt like I could do without it, to try. So she weaned me off and I've been ok. I've learned how to deal with a lot of my anxiety without the meds, but I plan on getting back on it after the baby. I don't have as much stress and such now as I probably will with a new baby. So it'll probably be helpful.
