And boy did it feel good! lol Just called and paid off a bunch of smaller things.

Now all I have is student loans, our car payment (for 2 more years) and DH's old car that he bought BIL. We have paid about 20k on old stuff of his (and a little of mine) in the last year and a half.

I estimate that we'll have that car crap taken care of sometime this summer, and then we can buy our house!!!!!

Great Job! It feels so good to pay things off. We just have my car left and we have decided to get a big down payment instead of paying it off.

congrats! we are planning to be debt free other than our mortgage and 1 car payment by next summer. And hopefully, if all goes well, our mortgage will be paid by renters in the next few months and we can buy a house in our new state of residence! I loathe living in an apartment.

Yeah my SLs and the car payment are in the 'ignore' category as far as worrying about payoff in full. DH had some old debt from before we met (like this stupid car that he bought his brother, brother didn't make pmts on and it got repo'd), plus he had a hard time after he got out of active duty military before he got a new job. Oh well, it's almost all gone now!!

I cannot WAIT to buy a house. We've been renting this 800sf house for 3.5 years and we have outgrown it.

Congratulations!! We did that last month. We paid off DH's car and his student loan (conveniently all the stuff in his name........haha). Now we are snowballing into our last credit card and that will be paid off soon and then one of my student loans. It's a long road, but we are getting there!

I know what you mean. We have been able to put a dent in a lot of our debts (and hope to be able to do even more in the next year so by the time we can make DD a big sister, I can be a SAHM).

As an aside....that picture of Alaina is ADORABLE. Makes me Big Smile .
