Dr. Change??

Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there has changed drs mid-pregnancy?  I have a bunch of recommendations from friends, but am anxious about switching this far into it (I am almost 22 weeks).  We have just had one bad experience after another with the current practice we are with,  but are unsure about gambling with another practice.  Any suggestions, experiences, advise??  TIA.

  • I persnally have not changed docs, but I know someone who did. They were so glad they did. It made them feel so much more comfy to have a doc they trusted even though it was a little bit of a pain to switch.

  • So here's what I would be asking myself.  Could it be worse?  If you did gamble with another physician do you think it could be a whole lot worse?  If you are having so many bad experiences I would rather take the chance with a new doctor than stay in a situation I don't like. If you were closer to Danbury I would rec my docs to you. I didn't have to do this exactly, but we had just moved to NY/CT when I got preggers and I had to gamble on a doctor from the start.  It turned out great but it was still gamble so I know the anxiety that can cause.  I'm sorry you're going through this and GL!!  Keep us updated!
  • I changed much earlier on (prior to 1st appt) but I say change! You want to be comfortable with your practice and you need to have faith in them, if you don't you might have a horrible birth experience and you really want a good experience!
