I really want to save them in case #2 is a girl, but I hate how much space they take up in our basement. The basement is getting so crowded with all the unused baby gear too. I don't want to sell or give it away and end up having to buy it all again later, but I can't stand the clutter.
So what are your organizing strategies? Or am I just doomed for a life of clutter?
Re: What are you doing with your LO's outgrown clothes?
Since h left, I won't be planning on anymore kids for a while.
I am keeping my favorite outfits of dd and will use all of the ones from her first year to make a quilt.
The rest of them I have donated to my moms friend at work.
Toys I have either sold on craigslist (the big ones) or will be saved for a yard sale this summer.

OMG... that's what I'm afraid of. Once I transition her out of 6-12 month stuff, I'm sure we'll be filling up a lot more of those bins.
I just wish we had storage space. No attic. Just a basement, a finished basement (which would be really great if we could actually use it, but right now it's all storage).
I have a closet organizer with about 5 shelves. I put the old clothes on each shelf. I think I am going to buy a large storage bin and keep it in the basement or get one that will fit under the crib.
That's a great idea. Maybe I can actually get some use out of that vaccuum sealer I have downstairs. LOL! And then more will fit in the bins. Genius!
I think I just found a new project for myself.

Well for the time being I'm praying my friend who is due in April has a girl!!!
But they're all in big rubbermaid bins under the stairs in our basement storage room right now. I've got clothes from Newborn through 3T under there so I think I'm in good shape as far as storage space goes. We'll probably move things up to the attic eventually, though. All the gear that she's outgrown is already up there or lent out to friends/family.
