TOTALLY agree. Its a texture thing I think...the plastic container is sort of slimy or plasticy (the cream cheese, that is)...whereas the brick is a bit more firm and cheese like or something...
I worked for a lady who would bring bagels and cream cheese in for us when we had meetings. And then she had her own brick of cream cheese and ate it plain. No bagel..just her entire brick of cream cheese. It was DISGUSTING to watch. And I love cream cheese...but don't see it as an item to eat by itself!

ditto DandR....I do like eating brick cream cheese but there is no way I could eat the whole brick ....that would make me sick.

I love cream cheese and this story just made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. I do love that she had the balls to do it in front of everyone! If I had a really gross food thing like that you can bet I would be doing it in secret at home, not while sitting around a meeting!
