If you have a delayed vax schedule, a ?

For those of you out there with a delayed/alternative vax schedule, did you "design" it yourself or did you get it from a book/website/whatever?

If you got it from a source, where did you find it?  We did the pedi's schedule, but I have a friend who is looking to do a different schedule.  Her LO is ~6 months and hasn't had any vaccinations yet.  I also will probably do a different schedule with the next one (when the time comes, which won't be for a while, but still).

TIA!

  • We took in the schedule from Dr. Sears' vax book (the younger Dr. Sears, not THE Dr. Sears ;)). Our pedi said it was fine but suggested her own alternative that would eliminate shots-only visits and just add them to the 9m and 15m visits, so we went with that.

  • We are doing our own schedule... DD received her first shot at 8 months and has had 2 shots since then. We work with her pedi at each visit to see what shots to work in.

  • Ours hasn't been as "designed" as I had planned. Our pedi when DS was an infant helped me decide which vaccines to prioritize, and we didn't do more than one shot at a time, and spaced them by at least a week. He has ended up on schedule (more or less) for dTAP and HIB, delayed on most other things, and declining a few. We have a new pedi now who is doing the same thing with us.

The part that has thrown us off any kind of schedule is how often DS already has a cold or the flu, and then deciding to get him both flu shots this year after all. So some things have been delayed longer than planned because it willl take up to 2 months for him to be well enough long enough to make it into the doctor's for the next shot.

  • Ours is basically a modified Dr. Sears
