Do Preggie Pops work?

Or more specifically, do they work any better than regular hard candy?  So far, I've escaped the vomiting morning sickness, but I feel queasy all day.  I'm a bakery manager, and work around food all day.  The smell of garlic butter, chocolate and yeasty dough mixing together is totally grossing me out!

I have to go out of my way or order the Preggie Pop Drops online.  Is it worth it?

Re: Do Preggie Pops work?

  • If you have them easy to get to, then yes I'd use them.  But my peppermint star mints helped just as much.  A few of the preggie pop flavors did make me feel a lot better, but in the end the mints were a lot cheaper and easier to buy in bulk at the grocery store.

The preggie pops weren't so much better that they were worth the extra hassle for me, but if I was at a store that had them I'd grab some.

Good luck!  There are some great aids for m/s out there that I never would have found if not for this board and other moms.

  • I didnt have much luck with them. I think regular hard candies work just as good. Another thing for smells that works good is putting on a really nice smelling lip gloss, so you are smelling that instead. Also, I found that when I just feel generally queasy, most of the time its b/c I am dehydrated and didnt realize, so sipping some kind of fluids during the day made me feel 100x better. GL!

  • They didn't really do anything for me either, but peppermint candies work pretty well.
  • They were the only thing that worked for me! I tried Jolly Ranchers but they didn't work...not sure if it was all in my head or not. I say try them!
  • I had better luck with mint than with preggie pops but I think preggie pops are better than regular hard candy. They have honey as a sweetener instead of sugar or corn syrup so you don't have as quick of a sugar crash (sugar crash = nausea).
  • There's nothing special in them.  They're just candy.

I did best with mints or lemon drops.

  • I found that ginger candy chews worked really well for me.  I think you can find them at TJ's, but I found them also at Target.
  • I'm going to TJ's today, I think I'll try those first.  I sipped on watered down fruit juice most of the morning and that really helped too!
