If you failed your IVF suppression check...

Due to high E2, what happened in the end?

I failed with a 129 (should be under 50) and the RE told me to just keep taking 20 units of Lupron every morning for 3 more days and then get re-checked tomorrow. I don't think my E2 is falling, though, because I haven't had AF yet. Crampy, keep thinking it's coming, but nothing.

This is new to me, and I'm not sure where we might go from here. I found one girl's blog where they switched her from Lupron to agonist after she failed two suppression checks, and I'm curious whether that is standard procedure (i.e., am I going to need to get new meds?). TIA.

    i had this problem with ivf#2.  i continued on 20 units of lupron for another week, and then my e2 was fine.  i think you'll be ok.  good luck.

    I failed my first suppression check by a whole bunch... E2 was over 150 and like your RE they were looking for under 50.   Failed the second one too, but not by much, E2 was down to like 75.  Ended up doing an extra week of lupron before stims... (RE was adamant that I have AF before stimming, apparently some RE's don't care, mine does, fresh lining and what not).

    Anywho, everything just got pushed back a week... the rest of my cycle went relatively normally (except LH tanked for some reason but we added Luveris to stims and that fixed it).  

    Ended up responding to stims just fine (16 eggs retrieved).  And now we have little Henry.

    I think you'll be ok, you've just got some of those ovaries (like mine) that just don't want to give it up :)

    Ha.  I failed my suppression check because I ovulated through the pill thanks to the antibiotics that they had me on when I started on the pill pack.  I had to let that cycle finish up and then try again the next month...without the antibiotic!

    HI!  I can't remember exactly what my E2 levels were, but they were high on the first check.  Continued on Lupron and they only higher.  Turns out I ovulated thru BCP and Lupron.  So, I stopped Lupron, waited for AF (which came within days) and started on stims shortly after that.  I added Ganirelix in 4-5 days after starting stims.

    Good Luck....i know I know it's frustrating.

    I failed twice on my first and only IVF cycle. I ended up on lupron for two extra weeks then started stims. The result is my twin pregnancy.

    Thanks so much for the info! I was feeling like I was somehow broken and was never going to suppress so it helps a LOT to know that people can just take longer. Phew :)
