Leftover thought from V-day...

So I was listening to the radio yesterday and the DJ was talking about last minute Valentine's gifts for guys to give their gf's.  He was saying how the #1 wish for most women on Valentine's day was for their bf to propose to them.  So he says, "surprise your sweetie and ask her to marry you!  She will be thrilled and you'll be the man for making her dreams come true!"

I mean, really?  #1 wish for most women?  I get if your bf is the love of your life and he had been planning to propose and planned to do it on Valentine's day, but for some guy to propose to his gf just because some radio DJ told him it would be a cool gift for v-day sounds super cheesy and lame to me.  I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic!

  • I had this conversation with a bunch of my girlfriends once.

The concensus was that what happens if this guy proposed and you thought he was "the one" and it ended for whatever reason? Now, Valentines Day will always be a bad memory.

    I never wished for it.

  • True!  I never even thought of it that way - I guess I was never really gaga over Valentine's day thinking "OMG I wish he would propose, how romantic...SIGH...." kind of girl, so it just seems weird that it would be the #1 wish for women.
