Elective ultrasounds

If you had the option to find out the gender early through an elective ultrasound, would you?  Step-BIL's fiance works at a 3-d ultrasound place in town, and has offered to do an early ultrasound at 16 weeks so we can find out the sex. 

I really want to do it, but DH is not so sure.  He wants to wait and let the Dr. do an official ultrasound at 20 weeks.  WWYD?

    I would definitely do it!  I'm actually having an elective one to find out the gender because my big ultrasound isn't scheduled until 21 weeks.

    Do it. I found out I was having a boy at 14 weeks...

    I would do it in a heartbeat! My IL's are going crazy not knowing, and the 3D pics are always so cute. It's not like they aren't trained and are going to hurt you or the baby.

    I wanted to do this too but then found out that at the place that I was considering wouldn't do it unless you had already had your big u/s for the measurements, etc. Just double check that you this isn't the issue at your place. If not,then YES go for it! Yes

    Yea! Why not?! Then the doctor can confirm. It won't hurt to know early!

    I did it.  We had an elective u/s at 16 weeks because we wanted to find out the gender before Christmas.  My big u/s was 2 weeks later and I just had the tech confirm.

    I would do it...and we actually are doing it at about 16 weeks but are paying for it...I say go for it!! and if they cant tell for sure then the 20 week apt will hopefully tell you!

    Do it!!! I did at my work at 14 wks and again last week to confirm it a boy. Totally worth it, but I'm not telling my ob I did that because otherwise he wont do the anatomy scan at 24 wks.

    We did it last time with the twins... and plan on doing it again this time around.  They will check starting at week 16.  I seriously am counting down the weeks!! Sooo excited.  We are also doing it so that DH can find out with me.  He can come during the weekend, and since he has yet to see this baby.... he is very excited too.
