what age for omnimax?

My MIL is causing a big stink because she wants to take Hudson to the omnimax movie, and DH said no. We told her that he is almost 2, hasn't been to a regular movie yet and that having a 5 story tall shark coming at him from all sides would probably be too overwhelming and loud for the little guy. DH offered to meet up at the aquarium instead and she responded with "that doesn't sound fun to me". Umm isn't the whole point for it to be fun for Hudson? So just checking what other people thought was a good age for an omnimax movie, making sure I'm not too crazy in my thinking!

I think that would definitely be a little much. I wouldn't think an Omnimax movie would really be a good idea until Hudson was at least 3, maybe even 3 and half...they are very realistic.

If the aquarium doesn't sound fun for her, I don't know why the Omnimax would. If Hudson's anything like Logan there's no way he's going to sit through the whole show even if it didn't scare him.

I think around 5 or 6 would probably be the best age.

IDK, but I'm interested to see what others say.

We've talked about taking DD to that, because she loves fishies, and even knows the difference between fish & sharks, but I was worried that it might be a bit much for her.
