What pads to buy for after labor?

So I was just curious what you ladies are doing for after labor.  I have never really been someone who has used pads so I am lost in that department.  I was hoping for some recommendations so I can get them ahead of time. Thanks ladies!

Re: What pads to buy for after labor?

  • After DD1 was born, I hoarded the ice pack pads at the hospital and used those for my first couple of days home. After that, I used Always ultra-thin overnight with wings, and then pantiliners.

  • I found Always to be the most forgiving brand as far as comfort and softness on an already irritated area. And they are thin but still highly absorbant

  • This was asked on 0-3 mo a little while ago and the overwhelming response was Always Infiniti.
  • I usually have a pretty heavy period for the first few days and I've heard that it will be along the lines of that.  So I bought Always Maxi Pads Overnight with flexiwings.  They were the heaviest ones I could find.  I also bought a bag of depends just in case Embarrassed

  • Yep, I bought the always thin overnights.

I wore the hospitals for the first couple days when things were kind of out of control, and then switched once things died down a little.

I didn't have to do the icepacks though since I had a c/s.

  • i used the gigantic hospital ones for the first few days, then I used overnight pads with wings.  My bleeding was only heavy for about a week and a half, then it was just annoying and spotty for the next 4 weeks

  • I have always worn "Always with Wings."  I love them and highly recommend the new Infinity pad.  They are very thin and very absorbent. They are more expensive than the older style but they are well worth the money.  I use the ones in the green plastic wrap.

     Good Luck!

  • To be honest, I just grabbed some random over night pads. I had no idea what to get.
  • I bought two boxes of Always ultrathin overnights this weekend...
