Justin only takes a night time bottle but I was thinking about vacation again. There are no microwaves to heat up milk/ not sure if milk is even readily available. (God I miss bf'ing some times) Has anyone ever tried powdered milk? It seems like a good travel idea.
My 1st thought was just to try to wean him from bottles before the cruise but we want to try to go to some of the 7pm shows and a bottle might help relax him/ keep his content past bedtime.
Re: Powdered milk?
On cruises you can get anything, anytime. They have whole, 2%, and FF milk in those little cartons. I'm sure you would be able to get some hot water to warm up the bottle too. They are so accommodating on the ships, and there are 24 hour places. I know on our last ship there was a little coffee shop that was open 24 hrs, so they had hot water for tea. And room service is 24 hours, so worst case you can have it delivered to your room!
Thanks! That was exactly my concern- we're crusing NCL, which we've been on before so getting the milk isn't a big deal but he won't drink it cold. They don't have microwaves in rooms.
We use Enfamil Next Step (Gentlease) for Evan's night bottle (DH is insisting on it since Evan is so-so with dinner and he thinks it will be better for him)...the other two bottles are warm milk and he isn't phased by the difference. Maybe you could just use that for a few days?
Or if you got some milk you could bring a small bottle warmer (the steam kind) and warm the milk that way.
Would you be able to wean him from the warm milk and just use cold? Between now and then just microwave it for less and less time each bottle?
That's what I thought of too.
They have it in the Nature's Marketplace at Wegmans
