2nd Trimester

Who else is/was in my boat?

I'm 19 weeks now and still have yet to feel undeniable movement.  I thought I maybe started feeling something a couple weeks ago, but if that were the case wouldn't the feeling have increased by now?

So as my subject asks, who else didn't feel movement until 19 weeks or beyond?

Re: Who else is/was in my boat?

  • I was 100% positive that at 19w and a few days that I felt movement. All the other stuff I felt before, ie. muscle twinges, I could never say absolutely it was the baby.

I didn't feel what people are describing as "flutters." I felt pokes. Now, I feel actual kicking. DH has yet to feel from the outside though. =(

  • with DS i didnt feel any real good movement till i was maybe 22 weeks. i might have felt the "butterfly" feeling but around 19 weeks and i just  didnt realize what i was feeling.
  • I think I have felt something in the past, but like you I'm not sure. I'm trying to stay positive by thinking once it starts you never want it to stop and I don't want it to start at 3am.

  • I was 19 weeks exactly when I felt my first distinct movement. Didn't feel it again for another 2 weeks and it was really sporadic. Now it's pretty much evened out and I feel him a lot.

  • I did not feel anything that I could 100% say was the LO until the end of 20 weeks.  I still have not felt any kicks just little pulses.  Like you I thought once I felt something that it would be stronger & more consistent but that is not the case so far :(  Give it one more week I am sure you will feel something.
  • I'm feeling much better after reading your comments. Thanks ladies!
  • I didn't feel anything until 19 weeks and then definite strong movement at 21 weeks.

  • I am with you - I will be 20 weeks on Thursday, and am still waiting to feel something FOR SURE. I have felt somthing sort of "swimming" around in there, but it doesn't feel distinctly baby...I have been told that if you are heavier to begin with it can take longer (I was a sz 14 pp).
