I just (like 10 p.m. ish) heard the baby's heartbeat on my doppler for the first time. I tried two nights ago, and got nothing...just my own blood flow. But tonight, after slowing moving the probe for just about a minute, I heard that sweet, sweet sound.
I couldn't think of a better gift for Valentine's Day ... the roses were great; the ice cream (my favorite flavor) was even yummy. But this, hearing the heartbeat, is absolutely priceless.
Absolute. Unconditional. Love.

Are you getting MORE snow tomorrow? We're supposed to get an additional 6-12 inches on Monday night. Ugh. Spring anytime, please.
My doctor (the one who came in when the midwife left sick DURING my appointment on Thursday) seemed a little surprised that I had one. He asked me what mHz it was, and when I told him 3, he said that was what they often used in the office. He only picked up the hb for a few seconds, said it sounded good, and ended the appointment fairly quickly.
I'm so happy to be able to hear it at home. I probably won't listen every day, but probably every other day if I can continue to find it. I recorded the sound with my blackberry and sent it to my mom. It totally made her cry!
The weather guy said something about more snow, but I chose to ignore the TV. :-) If it doesn't mean a snow day (apparently our district doesn't feel like doing snow days anymore) it's easier for me to just wake up to it, complain and get through it. lol
I'd settle for a quick heartbeat check tomorrow, but I want an ultrasound. We go in on the 1st for more bloodwork, but won't have another ultrasound until the end of March. I don't know what's causing this spotting to reoccur but I'm hoping everything looks A-OK!
