Figure skating outfits... WTF??

Anyone else wondering why in the world some of them have the outfits they have?  Right now I'm watching German  "clowns" thinking they look completely ridiculous.  I am too distracted by the make up and costumes to appreciate their skating.

    i am annoyed they didn't show all the pairs skate - wtf - i wanted to see the Italian pair b/c I'm Italian

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    Canadian feed showed all the pairs but wtf is up with all the commercials?!
