Hello. I am looking to paint polka dots on my nursery walls. Anyone do this? If so any tips on different methods? I have read about doing it free hand, stenciling, and also using fabric. Anyway, I would love to hear anyone's thoughts and if you have done this and have pics I would love to see them! TIA!

Re: Polka Dot Nursery
I just did this! I actually ordered decals like PP said but they weren't the color I wanted. Fortunately I only spent $13 on them from Amazon. What I ended up doing was picking the size polka dot decal I liked the best (for me it was the largest one but there were three sizes) and using it as my stencil. I stuck it to the wall, traced with a pencil. I was able to plot out the whole room before I painted. Then I just free hand painted the dots within the lines. You could tape them off I guess or make a stencil in the size you want but this worked out great for me! I did violet on violet dots...but I did the dots in a slightly lighter color with a high gloss paint. It turned out really well and depending on the lighting in the room the dots take on different effects! I love it.
Oh and here is a link to the dot decals I got at Amazon. They have lots of colors so you could always just use them.

I just purchased these....can't wait for them to come it. I loved that I could pick out the colors I wanted to match the fabric I used for everything in her room.
If you have a local print shop, try getting custom decals made there.
I work at a printer and we use a material called Busmark. Its a vinyl that will stick to almost everything but will easily peel off without leaving damage. It can be printed in any shade of any color pretty much. Simple dots or stripes/diamonds might be easy enough for them to design for you.
