I don't know what happened to my original post (sorry the above made no sense).
I had originally wrote that he sometimes will hold them both and use the spoon once in a while but not really a fork. He will hold it in one hand and use the other to eat his food.
Keep in mind I have a 4 year old too and I don't recall when he started. I think by 2 but maybe before.
DS does really well with a fork. He is starting to get a little better with a spoon. He used to just turn it upside down but now he is starting to understand how to use it
My DD just turned 18 months and she uses both a fork and spoon. She's pretty good with both of them. Not perfect mind you! But I'd say about 60%-70% of the time it's correct and the food actually makes it into her mouth ;-)

DS tries, and usually does pretty well. It means more clean-up for me, but whatev. He has fun.

Yes, he's been using a spoon for awhile. He's good at that now. The children's fork he has issues with, but he uses the adults ones better.
