I can't speak for the Ergo, but it is possible to nurse in the Beco. The inner fabric is cut out in a V-shape. Once you loosen the straps, you can position your breast into the V (for lack of a better description) and voila.
I can't say it's the easiest or most comfortable thing ever, but it works. I've definitely been shopping while he's nursing.

I don't have a beco, but I've nursed while out and about in the ergo. Not the best, but not the worst. Pretty discrete, too, since my DC won't wear a cover, and no one semed to notice but DH!
