Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

For those who had a c-cestion and are pregnant again

Durning my labor the baby was breech and I had to have a c-section after pushing for two hours. The baby was stuck in my pelvis, and when they took her out, my uterus was torn on both sides. My doctor told me I had to wait at least a year to get pregnant again. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I have a fear that when I get pregnant again, my uterus is going to rupture....

Re: For those who had a c-cestion and are pregnant again

  • wow, that would be scary!  just remember that the tissue that makes up the uterus is muscle, it can repair and come back just fine.  did your docs not now your baby was breech when you went into labor???

  • that didn't happen to me, but I did have a c-section due to breech presentation and was told to wait a year before getting pregnant again
  • I was told to wait a year ideally- esp. if I want to try for a VBAC. However, my ute was not torn...

I'm sure they would monitor you very closely and not let you VBAC!

  • Yikes!  Sounds scary.  Did you know baby was breech before labor began?

DS was transverse breech, but I knew that going in and was going to have a planned c-section...until my water broke.  Had the c/s and don't remember anything about having to wait to get pregnant again.  However, my uterus didn't tear - it was a non-emergency c-section at the begining of labor and was fairly uneventful.

  • I had a c/s due to breech presentation. My uterus didn't tear but my ob gave me the OK to get pregnant and attempt a VBAC when DS was 6 months.
  • I had a c/s after a failed induction.  I was told to wait a year to get pregnant. Now that I am pregnant again, my MW says I am at slightly higher risk for rupture during a VBAC because my babies will be less than 24 months apart.

  • Thanks. No, we didn't know going in. She was slightly side ways and face up.
  • My dr told me that I should have to wait a year, but we started trying right away, and it took until now that we got the news
