I'm all for NIP, but....

Sometimes I feel like people make it a point to be shocking about it. I don't see a problem with feeding my kids in a public area, but I'm not going to go out of my way to flash some nipple and then get all offended about people giving me weird looks.

I became a fan of some breastfeeding group on FB and people are posting pictures of their babies hanging on the nipple. Really? Like I said, I don't find any problem with it at ALL but I'm not taking pictures and posting them on the internet just to be controversial.

    I actually think most people who NIP do so tastefully, showing very little skin. And I don't usually see "lots of nipple" in the majority of the pics I've seen on different BF-promotion sites (like the slide show here: https://www.holisticmoms.org/category/news-events/nursing-our-future/). I think the more people see women NIP, the more used to it they will get, just like anything that used to be "controversial" and is quite normal now.

    I'm with you. Just be discrete and respect others then there is no big controversy. I have nursed on a plane and when I was finished, the man next to me said the only reason he even knew I fed DD was that I burped her.

    absolutely.  I'm not the nursing kind of mom.  I've never had the desire but, I agree with you guys in that it's not a big deal until you try your damnedest to cause a scene with it.

    I'm one of them freewheeling NIP supporting women. Go on friends, nurse your babies anywhere you need to. But you lose me at photographing and putting it on the internet.

    We have a couple too. But yeah. Not public.
