when DS is eating, and he has a whole mouthful of food - let's say, for exampe's sake, it's something doughy, like pancakes - he will see something else he wants to eat - say, blueberries - and literally spit out the whole mouthful of the pancakes to get to and immediately eat the blueberries. it's so weird. why not just swallow the pancakes? he of course will not eat the spit out food once it's spit out.
