So Ethan started about a week and have ago realizing he can gum his hands and has been doing so ever since. His personality has change some and he's much more irritable, drooling thru multiple bibs/onesies a day, refuses to feed (bottle), has alot more gas, wakes from his naps crying and even has refused comfort nursing/nursing all together. Everything in my eye sounds like the beginning of teething. DH was at his mom's Wednesday to clear the snow, and was telling her about how Ethan has been, and went back to snowplowing. He came back in and she had printed out practically a book saying no it's not teething, it's my diet. He told her that I haven't changed anything since DS was about a month old when I cut out the majority of my dairy and DS was fine since then. She then decided it's because i'm ITALIAN AND MAKE PASTA AND SAUCE TO MUCH!?!?!?!?! WTF!!!! I'm sorry I enjoy my Italian food and it's all home made sauce so I know exactly what's in it. She swears that I have to stop eating, garlic, tomatoes, onions, and 1/2 my spices because that's why DS his having such a hard time.
DH "forgot" all this stuff at his parents and warned me that she had her own theory. ( Apart of me thinks he believes her and is to afraid to admit it). Last night when we went over to have them babysit Ethan so we could go out to eat. When we got back she said how he's the gassiest baby of all her grand-kids (he's number 4) and he is making her loose weight (he had her passing the house b/c he was irritable). When she heard we went out to an Italian restaurant you can imagine the earful I got. I picked DS up and used the excuse of needing to nurse to get away before i B*tch slapped her.
GRRR can't my child just be teething!?!?!?!
okay off soap box and breathing better now.

Sounds like teething to me.
Your MIL needs a throat punch. Sounds like it is more than just "I think the food is doing it." Stupid.
Your MIL does need to ack off!
I've found anyhitng that was meant for breastfeeding women to avoid, he likes.
We just can't do lot of beans;)
My DS even eats curry just fine! If he can handle that, marinara won't kill him!
I think in Italy, they just call it food.
When my mom was doing something similar, I just kept to my guns. "Nope, he's just teething", "Nope, he's just teething", "Nope, he's just teething".
I know my child better than she does (or so I hope, since we only see my parents twice a month), and I just had to keep reminding her of that. Make sure your H backs you up, too.
Stay strong, and GL!
