contractions or gas pains

Might be a stupid question but can contractions feel like gas pains. I woke up this morning feeling fine. I then went to get ready and started feeling sick. Then I started having what I thought to be gas pains and finally I got sick. No longer feeling sick but still having some gas pains. Just curious what a contraction should feel like.

    Not sure about contractions, but if you fart... it's probably gas pains.

    Could be, but I heard there was a stomach bug going around too. Are they regular or kind of all over the place? A contraction will kind of have a peak, it will get stronger and stronger then relax, like menstrual cramps. Hope you're feeling better!
