Trying to Get Pregnant

Implantation Bleeding...maybe?

Possible TMI, but I just want some feed back...sorry

DH and I aren't trying to get pregnant just yet, as I am still on the pill, but just recently changed pills and this month I had spotting mid month. I never do this, but thinking maybe something could have happened since I switched the pills. It started out very light and dark (Brownish). We then did the deed so I think it irritated me a bit which made it heavier spotting. The following day it was very light and brown again, then it was gone. Could this be implantation bleeding? I am not due for my AF for another 9 days, but just want any feed back. I am probably being anal, but just thought I would ask. THANKS!

Re: Implantation Bleeding...maybe?

  • It probably has something to do with the pill switch, not being pregnant. I'm sure if you changed pills without a break in between, you were covered the whole time...

  • Probably not. Don't google yourself into more worry :)

Is there a possibility? I suppose. If you'd like some facts to keep you from worrying though- most luteal phases (the time from ovulation until your period) are between 12 and 14 days. It takes between 6 and 12 days to implant after ovulation- with the average skewing towards the middle of that range (8-10).

If your cycles are regular and you are ovulating (not a guarantee) and you are confident about the arrival of your period in 9 days- you are likely only 3-5 days past ovulation. Which is very very early for implantation bleeding.

Now if your period could be closer than you thought and you ovulated and your birth control failed then there's the slight possibility. But it's most likely just the shift to a new pill formula hijacking your hormones and causing the spotting.

  • I highly doubt it's implantation bleeding.  It's probably from switching pills.

  • When I switched BCP I had random spotting between periods for months. It's very unlikely that it is implantation bleeding.

Very well said. Allll of this. So probably not. Good luck getting your body regulated after coming off the pill. :)
