2nd Trimester

I should not have watched Knocked Up

I don't know if you guys have ever seen it, but the ending scene where she's giving delivering the baby made me cry so hard. It was not the happy, joyful, we're having a baby kind of crying either. It was more like, "Oh my gosh, what have I gotten myself into" kind of sobbing.

What scares me the most is that I really don't want to have an epidural, I want to do this naturally. I am beyond terrified right now.

I bet you are alot tougher than what you give yourself credit for. I didn't think I could do natural- in fact at the end I was asking for them and they were telling me to push and it be done. Try not to worry- your body will guide you through and you will do fine- with whatever birth you have!

  • I was watching some old room makeover show on Discovery Health (I think) where this team redecorates your nursery while your having your baby and then they suprise with it when you get home.

Anyway, I was skipping over the hospital scenes to see the room, when I happened to witness part of the birth and I had my own "what have I gotten into" moments.  I would like to do natural, but they better have my epi ready just in case!

  • I love the scene where she kicks him out of the car on the way to the OBs office.  I told DH to watch out, or that'll happen to him!
  • Thanks for all your replies, it really helps hearing it from women who have been there. I am enrolling in Bradley Method Classes, and we start in April. I can't wait! I'm hoping it will ease some of the fears I'm having.

  • That movie came out while I was pregnant with #1 and I made the mistake of seeing it before I delivered, too. Don't worry, you'll be fine!
  • I laughed my a$$ off when I saw it before, but I haven't watched it since BFP. Maybe I will give it another look!
  • Dh and I watched that movie over Christmas and it was hilarious.  I do remember thinking the same thing towards the end....you expect me to do that?!?!  I'm hoping for a quick delivery (wishful thinking).
