2nd Trimester

BOOBS!

My boobs have tripled in size since I've been preggers. One of the perks I must say! However, they are not very tender, my nipples don't hurt, nor do they appear swollen. I'm 28 weeks pregnant and many women I've talked to have already experienced an overflow of milk. Are these signs that I am not producing milk and most likely won't be able to breast feed?

Re: BOOBS!

  • That wouldn't be an indicator, from my experience.  With ds, my boobs only grew 1 cup and that was when he was born:(  I could not even tell that my milk was in because I didn't leak and they weren't huge, like everyone said would happen.  DS nursed for 14 months and a year and a half after weaning, they were STILL leaking!

  • Thank you! Comforting news.
  • No. It is not any indication at all, don't worry.  You don't actually produce "milk" until after the baby is born.  You may have some leaking colostrum but some people don't have anything leak & have much success with breastfeeding.
  • I don't know, but my DH saw the topic of this post, and said, "Click on THAT!" LOL!
