Thanks for checking on me.  Breastfeeding is not going well.  We are continuing to work with the lactation specialist.  We saw her on Monday and have a plan.  It's going to take several visits to get Jack to learn how to suck.  He does great on the special bottle and when we do the combo breast/tube feeding.

He is back up to his birth weight, so I know we are doing something right.

I posted about it in my blog if you want to read more.

    Hi Patchey!  I am so glad Jack is gaining....you are definitely doing many things right!!  We are struggling on this end too although it sounds like we have totally opposite problems.  Wren knows how to suck for sure but I just don't quite have the supply for her.
     
    We finally found a lactation consultant that we mesh with today after a week of trying.  Hope you have lots of good support too!  
     
    Let me know if you need any support or to vent!

    Thank you!  We met with the LC again today for a weight check and then go back for a full blown feeding appointment on Monday.  I am getting very hopeful.  He was up to 8 pounds today, a full pound heavier than when we brought him home from the hospital! 

    I will be thinking about you.  I hope your LC is able to help.  Who are you seeing?  We go to the Providence Lactation Clinic off of Burnside in East Portland.

    WOW!  You are definitely doing something right!!  Wren isn't even back up to her birth weight yet.  

     

    We are seeing Julie at Hillsboro Pediatrics....she is AMAZING.  We say people at Good Sam and Tuality and didn't click with them.  So glad we found Julie.
