Why is the bump emailing me now?

I got a whole bunch of emails from the bump in my inbox today.  They were informing me that I have private messages.  So I opened them and recognized them as pm's that I received almost a year ago.  So long ago that I've deleted them since.  Why is the bump emailing me about them now?  Has this happened to anyone else?

    Ah, sorry - I haven't been on all day.  I went back 2 pages worth of posts and I didn't see anything about it so I figured I was safe to ask.  Glad to hear it's not just me.

    I got quite a few Private message email notifications but also received TONS of emailed responses to posts.  he email provide instruction on how to unsubscrib to post topics notifciations but yet it is no where to be found when I try to follow instructions.  It is so annoying.

    It would have been nice to get the emails about the PMs when I actually had them and didn't just stumble upon them.
