Cluster feeding ?

My 9 day old cluster feeds a couple times a day.  For example, she ate @ 6 and again @ 7 tonight.  I have a TON of milk (guess feeding twins primes the pump) so she eats for 15 minutes and is done.

She sleeps like a champ - giving us nice long chunks of time @ night.

My question: when should I be concerned that she's snacking vs. cluster feeding?

Re: Cluster feeding ?

  • My LO cluster feeds at night too.  Sometimes every hour for 3-4 hours.  But I'm okay with that because I think that is why she is able to STTN.

  • I'm not sure but I don't think you have to worry about that until they're older.
  • It's totally normal for infants to cluster feed, particularly in the evenings for quite a while.  My LO still does it on occasion - and the nights when he does are the nights he sleeps the best!
