We're going to see Sesame Street Live, but I want to make a day out of our trip there. I've looked into the Children's Museum a little. DS will also need to nap in his stroller before the show, so I'm thinking it might be a good idea for us to go to a museum or something that's mainly for me and DH.
Re: What should we do with DS in NY?
I think we'll do that in the spring when it's warm. I can't WAIT to take DS to a zoo though.
The Central Park Zoo is very small and easy to see in a short period of time. It's also not such a trek from MSG (that's where the show is, right?).
The Children's Museum is ok, but not my favorite. DD is much more into the Museum of Natural History and this is a great place to push the stroller around if you think your DS will fall asleep while you're there. In fact, let him run around the Marine Life hall with the Whale and you'll get him good and tired for his nap.
DD also likes the MoMa, but it would probably be more of a challenge to get around the galleries with a stroller (I usually just let her walk around).
The Museum of Natural History is great for kids, especially the butterfly conservatory. If it's a nice day, a walk in Central Park is always fun.
ETA: Dylan's Candy Bar is a kid's (and sweets-loving adult's) paradise!
