Woohoo! No more night bottles...

Didn't think we'd ever get rid of the night bottle with Alyssa.  All of our other friends' kids that are younger are all done with theirs but let her decide when she didn't need it anymore...plus we didn't want to take it away before the new baby came....now she sees Jacob's bottles and knows they are the baby's bottle and hands them to me...such a big girl!

  • At 1 year, DD swiched daycares and was in the older infant room which helped eliminate all daytime bottles because all of the kids in her class were using sippy cups - she never looked back.  Morning bottles were replaced with  sippy cup and snack trap.  Night bottle was the most difficult - she NEEDED it in order to sleep and so we did formula bottles until about 1-2 months ago...then switched to whole milk and gradually reduced the amount of milk in the bottle. (used to be 6oz....to like 2-3 oz)..lately it seemed like her reflex to suck the bottle was going away and she'd just kinda leisurely drink the bottle...so we decided to replace the bottle with a sippy cup of milk (tried earlier in the year, but it didn't work)..but as of a few days ago...it worked and she didn't seem to miss her bottle and still went to bed without fussing.

  • We still have night bottles.  Tried one night without them about 1? months ago (decided unexpectedly to spend the night at my parents & hadn't brought any bottles with us), and it was SO awful that we haven't attempted since!  I know it needs to come...but they just don't seem ready yet!
  • Glad it worked! That's really cute. :) She sounds like a good big sister already!
