1st tri, STARVING! ur go to snacks?

I need some ideas....same as my first pregnancy, the food aversions are in full force so most of the snacks that I usually grab are out because they make me feel sick :/

I am going to try make some healthy dishes over weekend to have already available but I also need some snack ideas....what are ya'll snacking on? maybe, hopefully, something will sound appetizing :-)

things that I can put in diaper while out with ds would be helpful as well :-)

TIA!

  • I don't leave the house now without throwing a 100 cal pack of some sort, banana, or apple in my purse...

  • My first tri was full of clementines. I'd eat 7 a day easy.
  • My new obsession is Fage Greek Yogurt.  It's AMAZING, tastes like a dessert.  (Much better than other Greek yogurts, in case you consider substituting)  I literally think lunchtime when I grab one is my favorite part of the day - I actually look forward to it, lmao.  SO good.  My favorite is the strawberry.

I pack a lot of fruit, so I usally have an apple, an orange and a banana daily (or at least 2 of those).  I swear it's helped me with my weight - I followed Dr. Luke's guidelines and gained a lot of weight fast, but at 30 weeks I'm only up about 34 lbs., which is right on target.  I also want my boys to like fruit!  lol

My other go-to snacks include carrots and hummus, granola bars, stella d'oro (sp?) breakfast cookies and tea and cottage cheese single packs.

  • peanut butter on crackers

    cheese on crackers

    fruit

    anything high protein

  • In the 1st tri I ate a lot of graham crackers, cheerios, and wheat bagels with cream cheese.
  • I agree with lnle but if you have any adversion at all to peanut butter I would stay away. That is one of my top 3 "never want it to come back up" foods.

    Trust me.

  • cottage cheese was an absolute staple - w/apple sauce, berries, by itself.  having high protein snacks really helped keep me less icky!

    pb&j's

    almonds

  • I lived off of string cheese, yogurt, 100 calorie packs of ANYTHING (i was starving with no sickness), grapes, carrots and dip in little rubbermaid containers (or individually packaged), granola bars....

pretty much anything i would eat.

  • ... and ginger snap cookies.  tasty, and the ginger helps w/nausea.

  • I think I pretty much starved until 15 weeks. No, really. I couldnt keep anything down and then, I still couldnt stop throwing up.

Saltines were the only thing that entered my mouth. And...then I threw it up!

  • i was starving too and found that two egg & cheese sandwiches in the morning with a glass of OJ helped tremendously:) When I leave the house I take an apple, string cheese, cheesits. I was super hungry at bedtime and started eating ice cream before bed which has helped too:) For a dinner that fills me up really good I eat 2 small steaks, a loaded baked potato and a fruit salad. Better go grab a snack, now I'm getting hungry again too:) Congrats!
