Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Did your LO's hair color remain about the same from birth until now?

DS's totally didn't!  He had a head full of dark brown hair, and now, as you can see by my siggy, he has dirty blondeish hair.  So odd.  My hair is dark and DH's is darker than DS's.

What about your LO?

  • Nope.  Lil's was jet black.  She looked like a hispanic baby!  But now its so light.  I have very dark hair too so I was hoping it would stay dark.

  • No, DD's hair was VERY dark at first . . . now it is blondish/brownish/reddish (my siggy pic isn't a good representation . . . it isn't THAT red).
  • for the most part I do believe it's just about stayed the same... lightened up a little bit in the summer, but now it's just about the same as it was when she was first born.

  • My DS was born with red hair and it all fell out and came in very, very light blonde.
  • Nope, her's was pretty dark at birth and is lighter now.

  • Exactly the same. She was born with very little hair, never lost it and it kept growing in the same coor.

  • DD was born with dark brown hair and now has dirty blond as well!  When I was little I was the same, born dark brown then it was dirty blond and then dark brown.

Almost the same thing with DS - dark hair at birth, and it's lightened up since then.

  • Definitely not! DS's hair was almost black when he was born.  It gradually turned red and then white blonde.  Now that he's not outside as much, it's dirty blonde.

That red color was awesome.  It was coppery and so shiny.  I really wish he had kept it.

  • :::pouting:::  No.

Reese's hair was red when she was born and has now turned dishwater blonde.

Maybe my grandkids will be redheads <sigh> I was SO hoping she'd keep the red.

  • DD was born with a head full of black hair. Now its reddish brown.
  • Yes.  DS #1's had a ton of hair when he was born and it was very red.  He lost a little of it, but it grew in the same color.  His eyelashes and eyebrows were red, so we thought it might stay the same.

DS#2 didn't have as much hair as #1 but it's the same color.  He also has red eyebrows/lashes so we're thinking it's going to stay the same.

  • DD went from a very dark brown to light brown w/blonde to a mousy brown/blonde color......thinking it'll lighten up once she's out in the sun

  • no, it was dark and most of it fell out except right on top, which we called her flap.  Now it's dark blonde with dark brown on the last inch or so of the strands on top.  i hate to cut it and lose the last of her newborn hair :(

  • DS' hair was really dark when he was born, then fell out and came back in blonde. But, it fell out & grew back in gradually, so for awhile, he had a ring of dark hair around the new blonde, like he was wearing someone else's toupee.

  • DD had very little hair when born, but had a reddish cast to it... it's continued to come in red (which is funny because DH was a blonde baby and I've always been a medium brunette).

DD.....well...there's really been no hair to speak of.  poor kiki.

  • DS's hair was jet black when he was born. Now, it is more reddish brown like his dad's. DH used to have red, red, red hair, so I am waiting to see if DS grows into that.

  • Yep, DD was born a redhead and it's stayed that way. The color got just a little bit lighter after the baby fuzz fell out and "real" hair grew in, but it's stayed pretty much the same.
