Ava was born in the winter and with it being flu season, we pretty much stayed inside throughout my maternity leave. With #2 coming in the spring, I am really hoping to be able to take lots of outdoor walks, and get out of the house. (wishful thinking) I am thinking the double stroller is going to be best for us vs. single stroller/carrying the baby.
Also, Ava still loves her stroller - I can still keep her happy in it for 1-2 hr shopping trips at the mall or elsewhere, and she uses the snack tray/cup holder and usually eats/snacks while we are out and about. She was never one to sleep or nap in the stroller. So I'll cut to the chase...below are the 3 strollers I was looking at online. I was hoping to find one that would work with the infant seat (We have the Graco Snugride) and also use later on when the baby can sit on her own. I'm a wimp, so ease of use is also a factor for me. If you have any of these, or looked at them, I'm looking for feedback and pros/cons.Or if you have another recommendation, I'm open to other suggestions.
Phil & Teds Inline Doubles - concern I have is that I don't see a tray or cup holders. Not sure if there is some accessory add-on option here? Also, do you have to remove the 2nd seat to fold?
Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller - con appears to be the price, and I don't know where to find this stroller locally to check it out? Does anyone know where to find it - it gets great reviews.
Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller - Price is great on this, and I saw a woman with this stroller in the mall and was really impressed after talking to her. But I read that this only supports up to 40lbs and Ava is already 32lbs. Not sure whether she will outgrow using the stroller by 40lbs anyways?
If you have read this far, thanks, and I'm sorry if I appear to be rambling on here...I'm so confused and this is a big purchase!
Re: Double Strollers - Opinions and Feedback
Almost all my friends with 2 babies have the BOB dualie. It's the easiest thing ever to stir even through its a double. It is pricey but REI has a sale in March/April and you can get 20% off of it. I have heard this one is better then the Indie. We'll probably get this when we have #2.
I don't know know much about double strollers, but call the Baby's Room Kennesaw. I know that they carry of other Bumbleride's, I just didn't pay attention to if they had the double.
I've heard good things about the Valco Latitude for 2(I saw one at N. Point the other day), but I don't know of anywhere locally that carries Valco(maybe New Baby Products is where I think I saw the Ion) It accomodates a car seat.
Also Baby Jogger make the city Mini in a double and that is at Babys Room Kennesaw as well.
I love the P and T Sport. There is no tray or cupholders...that's the downfall. The good thing is you can use this right away. I put Aerin in the part that folds down and just layed her in there and she slept fine...others have not liked this part as much. You should go to the Baby's Room in Kennesaw for a demo.
I looked into the Bumbleride--saw this and it looks so cool, but the reviews led me to believe it was really heavy and bulky--same with the Kolcraft Contours.
The other stroller that I wanted but never got was the Peg Double Aria (60/40). The Graco carseat attaches to it. This one is lightweight and has the cupholders and tray.
I never found my dream double stroller--I think in order to be fully happy, I needed, the P and T, Double Bob, and the Peg/and or Joovy Sit and Stand.
Do y'all have a Buy Buy Baby? They have a lot of great doubles instock.
Sounds like the baby's room in Kennesaw is the place to check them all out. Why did I think this store had closed?
I will definitely look into the Bob as well.....thanks for the feeback, keep it coming!
And Carrie, don't scare me that I will never make it to the mall successfully with 2 kids, cause Brian is so NOT a shopper! If I have to take him, I might as well not go
Ditto all this! We have the P&T, love it but it does not have a snack tray for either child and this was frustrating. And Ethan just did not really fit in the newborn set up, so it wasn't used much till he was sitting up. I do love that it's essentially a single stroller size, though, very easy to manuever at the mall...however, when two kids are in it there's hardly any basket (since the baby is practically riding in the basket).
I agree with maykat's last statement about needing the P&T, double Bob, and Peg or Joovy...if only

go to: returnsforsale.com and see what they have. test them out in the stores here and if they have one on this site you can get it for a lot less but you have to hurry if it is on there. they usually only have one.
I got a $990 Urban Mountain Buggy which is THE BOMB for double strollers (it is what the New York women use as it is a jogger but can turn on a dime and fit through a regular door ...holla!) for like $480. And it was in a brand new box, never opened. They just discontinued the color I have which is red ...I could care less about color.
another vote for the Phil and Teds. I LOVE it. I walk the dog while pushing the kids with one hand at times. My neighborhood has lot of hills and I have no problem manuvering. Because its narrow there is no problem in places that dont accomodate a double wide. I also really like the fact that when my oldest is done with riding the stroller I can still use it as a single. I got mine at costco onnline for a steal. you can find alot of good deals online
