How did LO act the day after shots?

I know, I know, another 2 month shots question. I never paid attention before because, well, I didn't care then. Wink

LO did well yesterday for his shots--let out a huge wail, but calmed down quickly. When we got home, he ate and snoozed, ate and fussed, and slept like a champ all night. (ok, not all night, but only woke once and didn't grunt and groan as much as he usually does).

Today...he's just not himself. He's really fussy--but not just fussy, his cries are a bit more shrill, like he's still in pain. I haven't given him any Tylenol since last night...

Oh, and he's been asleep ALL DAY. The kid that's been fighting naps for a week has barely been awake for 2 hours total today. Nonstop napping.

So how did your LO act the day after shots? Did you continue to give Tylenol after the first evening?

  • My daughter had her shots on Monday and she is still fussy.  I don't think she slept for more than 2 hours last night.  I did give her a small dose of Tylenol last night.  It seemed to help.   Poor girl!

  • My little one was fussy and really tired...I think she was fighting sleep and wanted to be held ALL DAY.

If it seems like he's in pain I'd give another dose of tylenol, and I also read that doing bicycle legs with him can help relieve the pain (no idea why, and she didn't seem in pain despite small bruises so I didn't actually do this).

  • I didn't give my DS tylenol after the first day but the 2nd day he wasn't fussy at all. He was just very quiet and sleepy! The day of the shots he cried quite a bit even after we gave him tylenol! I'd give him some and see if that helps with the crying! Maybe he is still sore or in a little bit of pain!
  • My DS was extremely fussy - not at all like himself - cried when his legs were touched where he got the shots and ran a fever. I gave him Tylenol and he was SO much better. His fever was gone by the 2nd day, but his legs still were sensitive, so he got Tylenol again first thing that morning, but was fine for the rest of the day.
