Personalizing backpack.

So, it appears no one has a Stephen Joseph backpack.  But what are everyone's thoughts on personalizing backpack.  I am not usually one to be over concerned about these things, but I am a bit torn on putting Tyler's name on his backpack.  It allows anyone, including strangers, to call out his name.  Of course, his name is common and we encounter people calling out his name all the time and him thinking they are talking to him when they are not.  I thought of it just now because of an episode of Jon&Kate where the kids were wearing personalized backpacks in an airport and papparazzi and strangers were calling out their names.  They duct taped over the names and it helped.  Or should I just do his initials?  And would you put it on the flap or on the main part of the bag.  Here is the one I want.

    That is such a cute backpack! I would have the same concern about having his first name on it. Either initials would be good, or maybe there's a special picture or symbol that Tyler would want to have put on so he knows it's his pack?

    I wouldn't put his name on it. Stick with initials if you want that sort of personalization. It is a unique backpack so I don't think he will confuse it for someone else's

    that backpack is so cute! maybe you could put his name on the part that will be up against his back - that way, people can't see it when he's walking about wearing it. but he & his classmates will know whose it is.
