My 2 month old boy sleeps in his swing....but that was not the intention!! He fell asleep one night and we let him be. Well, 4 hours later he was still asleep. Just last night he slept from 8pm to 6am this morning when he awoke happy as a lark! I am ready to break this cycle!!!!! Anyone who has had a swing sleeper......GIVE ME YOUR TRICKS TO BREAK THIS SWING SLEEPER!!!! TIA!?
Re: SWING SLEEPER....How do I break this habit?
Start developing a bed time routine with him which will lead up to him sleeping in his crib or wherever you want to put him.
also, when he falls asleep in his swing during the day or any other time, take him out and lay him where you want him to sleep. He will wake up at first but stick with it, eventually you will break the cycle and he will sleep where you need him to.

I honestly dont think you have to "break this habit" yet. He might surprise you. Babies change every single day. There have been a LOT of times where my DD would do something for a few days and I would think "Crap, this is a bad habit to start." and the next day she'd do something totally different.
WIth regards to the swing in particular, this is what happened to us. DD STTN in her swing (7 hrs) a few times around 2 months old. Then, at 2.5 months old, I got two Baby Whisperer books and started putting her swaddled (which we never did before) and in her crib, awake. We would rotate between napping in her crib and napping (unswaddled of course) in her swing, because I sort of thought she wouldnt like being in her crib all day to nap.
Then one day, she cried and cried in her swing at nap time, so I decided to swaddle her and put her in her crib and she stopped crying and fell asleep in just minutes.
She hasn't slept in her swing since.
