Babies: 0 - 3 Months

My mother is on her way!

LOL.  How friggen hilarious that I am a mother myself and yet I have never been so excited to see my OWN mother.  HELP MOMMY!!!!

My parents live 3 1/2 hours away and only make it here about once a month or so.  She'll be staying with us for about 4 days, giving DH and I some much needed time to catch up on things (like more intensive baby proofing for the toddler to have the run of the house).

YAY!

Re: My mother is on her way!

  • I know exactly how you feel. My mom is 10 minutes away and I LOVE when she comes over. I guess you're never done being a mom, even when your LO is grown and has his/her own LO...

  • Oh, I get it!  Mine stayed the first week we were home so DH could go back to work and it was a blessing!

I also spent a few days at her house last month...I'm going back in a few weeks.  It's just nice to have someone to be around during the day that talks back.  :-)

  • Hurray!! Mom's are the best!

  • My mom is coming over today also. She lives 45min away, and comes over once a week. I'm looking forward to her playing with LO while I clean for the Open house we're having this weekend!

  • Tell me about it! DH just doesn't understand why I get so happy when my mom comes over. He thinks it's because I can't handle taking care of DS by myself. No, DH, it's because I feel more at ease when she is around, she makes me feel like a better mother. Plus, having a child has really made our relationship grow stronger.
  • This post just made me cry.  I lost my mom to BC in May and I miss her so very much.  She was my best friend we talked for an hour each day on my drive home from work and I wish she was here to see her grandson.  I have so many things I want to ask her and talk to her about.  It's so nice to see a post where you all are honoring your moms.  It always grates me when I see mom vent posts because I would give anything to have my mom here now...even if she was annoying me!

I'm so sorry for your loss...your post made me cry. We should all honor the loved ones we have for we never know when they will be taken away from us.
