Babies: 0 - 3 Months

STTN = BFF

As in BIG FAT FAIL...On Tuesday DS had his 2 month shots and then on Tuesday night he STTN from 10-5 for the first time.  I was really praying that it wasn't just a fluke.  But no such luck last night he was back to usual waking up 2-3 times a night.

Tell me I'm not the only one with a 2 month old still doing this....anyone?!  I feel like I am going to be feeding him in the middle of the night until he is 14. Tongue Tied

Re: STTN = BFF

  • How much does he weigh? My pedi gave me a handout at our 2 month appt that said most babies are unable to STTNuntil they hit at least 12 pounds.

    He was 12.7 lbs at his 2 month appt.

  • I would guess there are a lot of babies that don't sleep through the night at 2 months.  I know my daughter doesn't!  I can't wait until it happens though!

  • I am with you!  My LO used to sleep through the night when she was 5 weeks or so and did until she was 8 weeks, but now she is up at least once every night, usually around 2 or 2:30 to eat, and sometimes she up even more than that.  I think it's perfectly normal that our 2 months olds don't sleep through the night yet...but it will sure be nice when they do!!
  • You're not alone - my DS will be 4 months on Monday and consistently wakes ever 3-4 hours STILL!  There was one night he slept 7 hours, and that was at least amonth ago!  DD on the other hand, was STTN at 9 weeks, so this is a huge struggle for me!  I think DS is just a very light sleeper - he wakes up when DH or my alarm clock goes off, even though he's sleeping in his own room!
  • My LO is only 7 weeks but he still wakes every 2-3 hours at night. OCCASIONALLY we will get 3.5 hours. The most I hope for these days is that he wants to sleep again after he has eaten! I figure he will grow out of it soon. I don't think he'll be STTN at 2 months.
  • i think you are not being realistic. babies wake up during the night. that is just how it is. #1 didn't sttn unitl around 7 or 8 months and #2 was 9m, and i had to do CIO .  it is exausting but that is just the way it is.
