Hi! I am covered under OHIP but am self-employed without private insurance. Does anyone know what types of costs to expect? What about things like epidurals (though I hope to go natural!)?
I know so far:
1.) prescriptions
2.) upgrade to semi-private or private room

DS #2: July 2015 (preemie born at 31 weeks) - our little miracle conceived through ART - unexplained secondary infertility/adenomyosis

Re: OHIP Coverage
OHIP covers all costs related to delivery. Epis, c-sections included. The only thing we had to pay (or that insurance paid for) was TV in the hospital room, parking and upgrade to private room.
That's it. (other than prescriptions obviously... ins. paid for that.)
Our hospital charges $210 for semi private rooms and $250 for private. It will be on the form you fill out when you register at the hospital.
