Myomectomy ladies (the few, the proud)

I know there aren't many of you (3?), but could you tell me how long it took you to get your 1st post-op period?

Tomorrow will mark 4 weeks and it is torture waiting to start! Had I not had surgery, I would've expected it last Thursday(ish), but no sign.

My doctor said it can take 4-6 weeks and that they did a lot of "mucking around" in there, so I am probably just impatient.

But I am so ready to get this show going!

TIA!

Re: Myomectomy ladies (the few, the proud)

  • I had a myomectomy at the same time a bunch of endo and my hydrosalpinx tube was removed - I got AF about 2 weeks later, but I know it can TOTALLY vary.

I hope you get yours soon!!!

  • I had AF just prior to my surgery and then I bled a little bit 3-4 days after my surgery. After that, it was 6 weeks before my next "real" AF.
  • Thanks ladies! I was on CD11 or so on day of surgery, so I'm not too surprised I haven't gotten it yet. Especially when I stop and think how much I bled during surgery. I'm just ready!
  • Hello Juliannat,

I just wanted to ask who did your myomectomy and in what city.  I live in London, ON, and so far was aunable to find a gynecologist who feels comfortable performing a myomectomy.  Also, do you know how many fibroids they removed and what was the size of the biggest one was and whether you needed a blood transfusion during or after the surgery.  I have multiple fibroids, largest 12 and would very much appreciate it, if you could answer my questions.  Thanks a lot.
