Birth Certificate Question

How many Birth Certificates did/are you get? It is $20 for the first one and $3 for each additional so I want to make sure I get all that I need now so we don't have to pay the $20 again.

I only got one. Most of the places you need it, I think you just need a copy. I wish I'd gotten two for each baby. That just would have cost me $48 and at the time, I couldn't see myself paying that much for paper.

I've only had one birth certificate for my whole life. Two might be a safe bet, you can keep them in different places in case something happens to one.

I only got one. Ours were $25 for each copy though. I thought that was a little outrageous. DH wishes I got multiples though because he is convinced we are going to lose it.

We got two copies. Always good to have a back up. My parents lost my original and I had to order a new copy a few years back. It was a real pain in the butt since I no longer live in the state where I was born.
