Those of you currently up to your eyeballs in snow...

Would you said "snow" and "fun" are synonymous?  My grandmother thinks so.  She's crazy IMO!

  • here are my feelings on the white stuph:

It's pretty to look at.. it's fun to make snowmen/snow angels, etc.

I hate shoveling and even worse driving in it... I'm not a huuuge fan of the cold but if it's going to snow.. let it SNOOOOOOW... I hate when we get like.. 2 inches or something.. it's enough to make the roads nasty but not enough to be a real "snow day"... not to mention the salt that gets all over your car from driving in it. . . so to me.. no.. snow and fun are not the same thing! lol

  • most definitely NOT.

snow= PITA.  i'm ready to move south.

  • I have this conversation with my mom (who lives in CA) each time it snows. It goes something like this:

    Me: It's snowing

    Mom: Ohhh! Is it pretty?

Me: As long as I'm inside with my tea and not on the interstate, yes.

Mom: I wish I could live where it snowed!

Me: Mom, the first time you couldn't get to WalMart because of the snow, you'd be griping about it from here to next Sunday.

Today it is fun. I've been documenting the accumulation in our front yard, and DH and I have been hanging out around the house. Tomorrow it will not be fun when I have to drive my 50+ in to work.

  • LOL it's fun for a while.  Then it's a pain in the ass.  And then it's expensive when it does damage to your house.
  • I don't like it. At all. Ever. I just hate being cold, and while I know people who swear that it's better when it snows than when it's too cold to snow, but I don't buy it. Cold is cold. And icky.

  • I love snow. It hardly ever happens here (I'm by the water, so we mainly get rain, if anything).

However, there are limited resources in this area and limited intelligence in the areas of snow removal. We have "snow days" for a few inches of snow. The amount we have now, in comparison to places that ALWAYS get snow, is minimal, but the impact is huge. Couple that with people who don't know how to drive in snow, and it's not pretty.

Plus, I'm preggo and can't do shoveling (which I would totally do) or walk around in the icy conditions. And it's a genuine blizzard out there with howling winds and snapping branches.

Hence, I've been inside since Friday. And.I'm.going.nutso.

  • As much as I want to get out of the house, I still would.

  • I'm loving it...still!  Had fun reshoveling our paths today.  (Yes, I shoveled snow.  I actually got upset over the weekend when my husband was going to pay a kid to do it b/c being snowed in, that is my only way to exercise!  And yes, a pregnant women can shovel if they use proper form, don't have back pain, and don't overexert)   I took the dogs for a walk, so nice and quiet.  Everyone is so friendly and talkative for once...do I still live in the DC area?  I could do without the ice dams building in my gutters that is causing our front bay window to leak, but that won't become an issue again until it starts to melt again in the next couple of days.
  • Normally yes!

  • this is the first year in a while i don't mind it as much. i am now working from home so i don't have to drive in it. when i was working in a hospital and had to get to work, it was a royal p.i.t.a.
  • No.  "Snow" and "Stuck in the house" are synonymous.  Ugh.
  • I've been enjoying it. My hubby is a teacher and has been home with me and it's nice spending the time together getting the babies' room ready.
