Babies: 0 - 3 Months

posted on nursery and gear, but thought new moms would know better?

I am desperately trying to find a good/great diaper bag.  Nothing fancy, but that I can use every day.  I have ordered and returned about 5 diaper bags and am at a loss.

I registered for a carter diaper bag for my shower, got it and hated it.  The color was horrible and way too big.

So then I decided to go with messenger type bags for easy carrying and having free hands.  Also b/c my DH would use it as well.  I have ordered a few and they all are just so small.  They don't seem to be wide enough inside to hold anything...

Tried this one.  https://www.skiphop.com/product/21000.html.  Then this one.  https://www.skiphop.com/product/22000.html.  Then this one.  https://www.shopjujube.com/Product.aspx?l=00010003000000000000&p=JJB01231.  This is the final one.  https://www.diaperdude.com/store/brown-or-c-251-p-1-pr-16227.html.

They were all the ride length and height but the width inside was nothing.  I don't need tons of room, but I didn't even think I could have a change of clothes for LO, diapers, wipes, pacifiers, back up bottles or breast milk if pumped. And any wallet essentials for me.

Anyone find a bag that is big enough inside?  Do I need to start looking at tote sizes?  But I really want something with a shoulder strap to be able to be hands free.  Help!

  • We fit everything you listed plus a receiving blanket into the diaper dude (the model with the pockets on the outside).

  • I actually just bought a Winnie the Pooh bag from Walmart- after returning some name brand messenger type bag to BRU. I knew once I got that one that the messenger bag wasn't right for me- I didn't like how the fit was when everything was in it.

However, I will be looking for a small duffle bag for DD, when we take her to the nanny's house (my cousin) because we're doing cloth diapering and BF'ing and will be making my own baby food- I just feel that with the essentials plus those things, I want to have something roomier during the day.

I ordered this one. it doesn't seem that wide, but I put his blanket, two sets of clothes, a big can of formula, a few toys, two burp rags, snacks for me, his nose bulb, extra socks, my wallet, the little bags for dirty diapers, about ten size three diapers, my wipe case, and usually about four bottles. everything fits well and I am still able to close it.

  • I went to macys on a quiet day before baby and searched all the bags I finally found a kenneth cole bag that is perfect for a diaper bag it fits everything and then some. In my opinion you dont need to look for only a "diaper bag" you can go look for regular bags and just see if they can work for you.
