Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

I cried when DD turned 1

and I have no idea why!  I mean, I was sad that a whole yr had whizzed by, but I LOVE this age. She just gets more and more fun every day.

Re: I cried when DD turned 1

  • We had a huge party for Lilly when she turned 1...like over 100 people (yes, it was insane) and I cried in front of EVERYONE. I had just found out I was pregnant again so I was crazy emotional, it was bad, lol.

  • DD turned one in October, and as soon as it started geting cool out in September and the leaves started to turn, I was reminded of the weeks when I was busy getting ready for her to arrive, and I would cry or get teary-eyed all the time.  I loved having a fall baby so much that baby #2 is expected on September 30, so I am fully expecting another October baby, and I'm sure I will be a mess every fall with my happy memories.  I think this is really normal!
  • I did too! It was just really bittersweet. I LOVE this age she is at, but it was just so surreal to see the last year whiz by ... and thinking, "This time, 1 year ago ... I was giving birth!"
  • I think I cried so much more in the days leading up to the actual birthday than I did yesterday. Her birthday was more like 'wow, shes 1!!!' ... its so bittersweet to see them thriving and growing so fast.
