Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Kendra and her post-baby body..

She's 8 weeks pp and she already looks amazing (I'm sure the mag cover was airbrushed) but, she sure as hell didn't follow her doctor's orders..she had a c-section. Not fair that they can bounce back that quickly.

How did she do it without ripping herself back open? geeze.

Re: Kendra and her post-baby body..

  • I guess that's the benefit of being young and in super good shape before you're pregnant.  I was neither one of those things so my bouncing back is taking much much longer.  Good for her if it's not all airbrushed.  I'm jealous.

  • I think it all depends on the person.  If you are in great shape, have a crazy diet and can pay a trainer you can probably bounce back fast.  If you are breastfeeding, have a colicky baby and not much help...it's a different story.  If I had a nanny to leave Andrew with while I worked out for 2 hours each day, I`d look like Kendra too.

  • It's crazy how quickly they bounce back to shape.

    Ugh.

  • i think jackswife nailed it on the head: having the time work work out for hours a day!
  • Must be the 30 Day Shred.  I hope to get the same results.  Stick out tongue

  • Even minimal airbrushing can a do a ton!   However, I think she was in super awesome shape throughout her whole pregnancy and some people's skin can just "snap" back easily after having been stretch (mine stretches great -no stretch marks - but, it takes a while to firm back up).   I sure wish I could hire nannies and personal trainers......   I do hate those kind of stories, though.   I think it places unrealistic expectations on "real" women.   Great for her, though.

This.  Also, whenever I see celebrity moms who bounce back super fast I always remind myself that the way they look is a major part of their job......so they have to do who-knows-what to get back there pp bodies back.

  • Dont hate, but when I had my fist, I was back to PP weight (and a flat stomach!) within 6 weeks. I didnt work out, didnt diet, didnt do ANYTHING. That was just what happened. I do credit nursing round the clock to burning a lot of calories though. But I didnt DO anything. It happens, and not just to celebs who have personal trainers. Just sayin'.

Not the case with my 2nd child, though. I have a flabby tummy now.  Crying

  • I think that magazine cover is so depressing for real women. It means that she has been working out for two weeks, since she should have rested for 6 weeks. I can definitely tell their is some airbrushing and you have to remember that she is posed and sucking in and standing in a position that makes you look skinny (while wearing super high heels -- I am sure of).

I was one of those girls that bounced back after both kids pretty quickly (I am back to prepreg weight and plan to wear a bikini in April on vacation), but it wasnt instantaneous like Heidi Klum. I held onto 10 lbs of weight until about 2 months ago, plus there was no way to make my hips and ribcage go back in. That took time. Nothing else.

I do think being in amazing shape before pregnancy helps a lot.

  • I am not saying that she had this done...but....it is pretty easy to find a doctor that will give you a tummy tuck right after your c-section. The plastic surgeon comes in right after your ob is finished.
