Babies: 0 - 3 Months

shorty

hey shorty!  you and I were preterm/bedrest ladies and i had my lo just a few days after you (35w3d).. Your LO is adorable too btw :)

Well just about a week ago, my lo started showing signs of reflux or colic.. not sure which one??  She used to get hiccups every feedings so we switched to Dr. browns bottles which have been working.. the only thing with these bottles is that the formula comes out of her mouth more.. (I pump but dont get much maybe an ounce or 2 so I suppliment with formula.. she is on Similac Neosure bc she was preterm) which formula is your lo on?

Now she doesnt spit up, but she is doing the whole shrieking in pain, arching back, fist clenching, wont sleep on her back and bringing her legs up..so heart breaking....  When did your lo develop hers? I read since our babies are pre-term or preemies they can develop this later which I feel like my lo did..    Also, where does your lo sleep at night? she likes to be sitting up right which =s no sleep for us..

Thanks :)

  • Claire was born at 35 weeks as well.   She was so small we had to supplement with formula.  We use the Similac Advanced, premade in the bottles of 32 oz.

Claire is doing really well on it, and appears to be in no distress regarding gas, etc.  I am going to continue using it for the next couple months.

We bought her a Boppy Lounger cushion, which has been a godsend.  It lets me keep her head up a little more and she loves to be close to us on it.  She sleeps in a bassinet PandP by our bed when she goes down at night.

  • I'm part of this club too! Violet was born at 35 weeks, 1 day. What your describing sounds a lot like her digestive issues. Our Pedi says her digestive system is immature and eating is hard on her. I used Oval drops, which are a godsend. I use them right before she eats and they help her digest way better- no tucking in her feet and shriking in pain. It was heartbreaking.
