2nd Trimester

having a hard time with clothes this pg what are you wearing?

I can't seem to find anything I like. I have a couple sweaters from motherhood, and one from the gap. A few shirts from last pg but ds was born a winter baby so the seasons are off. I need maternity clothes, but don't seem to fill out a lot of the rouching styles yet. But all my real clothes are SO short because my belly.

where did you buy clothes?

Re: having a hard time with clothes this pg what are you wearing?

  • Personally I am not a fan of Motherhood.  But I love my tops from Gap and Old Navy.  There are usually coupons floating around here and on the internet for online orders at either of those stores.

  • I am also a fan of Old Navy. Target has some, but my local store has virtually nothing, so I usually don't bother.

  • When I was pregnant last time I had a not so cute belly so I wore alot of the empire waist with very flowy bottom... This time around I love my belly and want more form fitting tops and love the rouching sides but can't find too many that are nice enough for work.

  • I got a bunch of hand-me downs, but have also bought a lot of stuff from Old Navy, Kohl's, Motherhood, Gap, H&M.  Actually I just bought a ton of stuff at Old Navy yesterday, they're having a huge sale in the stores, everything is $20 or less in the maternity dept., it's mostly spring stuff so I'm stocking up for later.  I still wear some PrePreg clothes, but was fully in maternity pants around week 18.

  • I am LOVING my maternity leggings (3 pairs)... I wear them ALL the time and I am comfy while still looking nice!  I have quite a few longer tunic shirts/sweaters from prepregnancy which I am wearing and a few maternity tops for underneath.
  • I got some basics from target.com but some of my other favs are

    www.isabellaoliver.com

also maternal america and olian maternity which is available online at a bunch of sites. Its spendy but I try to find it on sale or on ebay cheaper.

  • i wear a lot of AEROpostale sweats.  i dont know what im going to do when it gets warm.

  • Im in the ackward stage now where maternity is too big but my real clothes are getting too small. Fortunately my jeans still work since they have have a lot of stretch, but its just a matter of time. I have maternity leggings that I love from Gap. I got a bunch of tops from Gap and Old Navy that are really cute, just waiting to fill them out!

  • I got like 3 basic tanks from Target and a couple long sleeved basics from Motherhood.  My cardigans / jackets / what not still fit so I'm just doing basics with those plus accessories.  Cheap and easy
  • I like motherhood pants because of the secret belly fit...it really does fit for your entire pregnancy!  For shirts, I prefer Gap, Old Navy, and Target.  I really do NOT like Motherhood shirts!

  • I have a lot of Gap and Old Navy things  --- I've been wearing maternity tees (sometimes fitted, sometimes flowy) under non-maternity cardigans all winter - I just leave the cardigans unbuttoned. Old Navy is having a good sale right now, by the way.

  • I still don't fit into maternity clothes.  Booo...  I found some pants that are stretchy that are fitting just fine so far.  All of my PP sweaters are good, and I bought a few more long sweaters.  I'm hoping to go on a major shopping spree this weekend.
  • I have a couple pairs of pants and a couple dresses from Gap, but for the most part I'm still in normal clothes. I don't have any maternity tops and can still wear a lot of my normal dresses and skirts with a belly band.

  • Most of my tops are from ON. I love the way they fit. They are longer but not wider. I hate the wide funky look.
  • My whole work look is shirts (some maternity and some not) with cardigans over them.  I bought a few old navy and ann taylor loft non-maternity cardigans when I first got pregnant and they have done nicely first to cover up the fact that I no longer have a waist and now to cover the beer gut stage.  Plus since I need some maternity now but will be giant in the spring/summer, it means I don't have to buy a bunch of winter clothes I cannot wear later.

  • I buy long, thin cotton Tees with longsleeves, from places like Walmart. I find the styles are long enough, and with them being thin cotton they are quite stretchy.

Also, Motherhood a month or so ago had shirts for $19 that are wonderful, they are a thin cotton quartersleeve with the maternity band sides, thin material, and seem to work great for ALL stages of pregnancy.

  • I'm a HUGE fan of the rouched belly shirts and that's pretty much all I can wear. I have 5 of the rouched shirts from there and one from Old Navy. I got some tank tops from Motherhood that are very long and they are perfect. They were only $7 per tank. My size large t-shirts are now tight around my belly so I don't know what I will do about sleep shirts in a couple months.

If the shirt isn't rouched on the sides, then doesn't it leave an open space at the bottom of the shirt? A couple of non maternity shirts that I have leave a a space at the bottom of my belly and cold air blows up my shirt which I can't handle.

  • I have gotten shirts at pea in the pod and motherhood. I have also gone to target and oldnavy and LOVE those shirts. I have bought a few michael stars shirts too, and they are great but a little bit more $$$$
  • I am still wearing a lot of pre-pregnancy clothes that were a bit long to begin with. Early during my second trimester, I went to a Gap Outlet store and bought a bunch of sweaters one size to big and I think they will last me through the winter! I'm not a big fan of tops from Motherhood...

I have 5 of them! I love these shirts and I went this past Saturday and they are still on sale. Great shirts- and they grow with your belly.
  • Yes my DD was a winter baby too so a lot of it just doesn't work.

Mostly I've been wearing mat yoga/lounge pants and big tees, I also love target brand tees. They are extra long which I like.
My problem is I hate when things are too tight on my belly and arms, which most maternity places love to do apparently, so I wear a lot of DH's tees for now.

  • I think everything I've bought so far has been from Target, ON or Gap.  I have also bought a few things from other stores that are just one size bigger than what I normally wear in tops and its been fine.  I was able to find really nice tanks at VS a few weeks ago on clearance for $4 that are super long and fit great!

  • I live in Canada so we have very litte selection (as well as it is cold).  I abhor all maternity pants I have tried on so have been wearing tunics or sweater dresses (non-maternity), tights and boots.  So far I have been really happy with this combination because I can wear low boots on weekends and look casual but if I wear my boots with heels and add some chunky jewellery I look dressier for work.
  • Most of my tops are from Old Navy, Target, and Gap. They all fit pretty well. Motherhood stuff is mostly too wide to fit me well for some reason.

My jeans are Gap (favorite!), Old Navy (okay), and Motherhood (the Secret Fit Belly kind--I like them pretty well).
